No More Ronaldo
Is anyone else ABSOLUTELY SICK TO DEATH of hearing stories linking Cristiano Ronaldo with Real Madrid? Does anyone else get that sinking feeling when faced with the prospect of another entire summer of back pages dedicated to a transfer that may or may not happen?
With the amount of column inches that have been devoted in the last two years to something that still hasn’t occurred, you would have thought that the subject matter was the outbreak of the Third World F’ing war. No more, please! I mean, how many ways are there of rehashing the same information? How many trees have died for the cause? ‘Ronaldo to Madrid!’ ‘Ronnie Is definitely going! Soon!’‘Source close to Ronnie says he’s going!’ ‘Source close to Ronaldo is signing for Madrid!’ ‘Ronaldo’s half, second mother says she wants him to play in Madrid.’ ‘Ronaldo’s dog is looking at apartments in Madrid!’ ‘Ronaldo’s dog is buying Gabriel Heinze’s dog’s luxury kennel in Madrid!’ ‘ Ronaldo doesn’t even have a dog!’ ‘Nor does Gabby Heinze!’ And so on. It’s like watching paint dry.
Personally, I have got to the end of my tether with it. I couldn’t care less what he does and just wish the papers would stop writing about it. So I have had a long think about it and consequently hatched a cunning plan.
I asked myself, why do the papers write about it so much? Answer, because people still read about it. So here is the plan. All of us Footballing World folk should refuse to read any more stories about Ronaldo , stop buying the papers that report it, stop clicking the links that speculate about it and tell all our friends to do the same. If we stick to this plan religiously, then hopefully, eventually, they will have to stop writing about this most boring and protracted of tales. Join me, please, in boycotting any transfer story relating to Ronaldo and then perhaps the media will no longer be able to sell papers on the back of it. Then we can all have a little peace from this farce and enjoy our summers.
